There are four ways to walk out of our village, and obviously four ways back in.
The route-heading due west out past Alain?s vines (you will meet Alain later on when we make our wine), passes a small garden, until last year overgrown, now full of pumpkins ready for Halloween.
Walking along one of our normal routes through the woods, dusk was descending, it seemed earlier each night; Ob was ahead as usual, suddenly he let out the most amazing bark, and was off on the chase, which is quite normal for him. As I entered the clearing that had seen Ob? excitement I saw a large amount of dust rising from the middle of the field, must have been a large animal he had surprised. Ed and I remained stationary as we listened to Ob chase his prey, I hope it would break cover and reveal itself, no such luck.
Ed and I arrived home without Ob, nothing unusual; 10 mins later he shot in, straight under the table shaking, very unusual, we do not know, and never will but maybe the wild boar he disturbed, turned on him, and well frightened him.
But the next day he was his usual relaxed self
